RICHARD G. KURMAN - INTRODUCTION
I was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 8, 1927.
After graduating from Webster Groves, MO, High School, I attended the St. Louis School of Fine Arts at Washington University, and the University of New Mexico, where I received Degrees of B.A. (1950) and M.A. in Art and Art History (1968).
Between 1950 and 1968 I supported myself by artwork and graphic design, and spent a year as Merit Scholar (1951) at the Art Students League, New York, N.Y.
From 1969 through 1992 I lived and worked in Germany, exhibiting paintings, resulting in acquisitions of my paintings by individual collectors and major industrial firms including IBM Deutschland, Zahnradfabrik Friedrichshafen, and Dornier GMBH.
I returned to the USA in 1992. Since then I have been painting; my New Mexico landscape in oil ("Barranca") is in the permanent collection of the Taos, New Mexico Art Museum.
My studio-residence is in Santa Fe. I would enjoy hearing from you.
